Last War

Posted: August 16, 2007  3:16 p.m. Portland, Oregon  by Ira Garner © 2008

No soldier or General wants to send his men into an enemy area, when the intelligence reports are not recent updated and accurate. The consequences are incalculable and the price to be paid brings the greatest fear to society.

One such example is the Battle at Gettysburg, during the civil war, where even the confederate army under leadership of General Lee, West Point most brilliant student, teacher, and leader suffered the greatest casualties of war in America history.

The most obvious reason attested to that failure at Gettysburg, was that Lee did not have the scouting information normal provided by Jeb Stuart and his Calvary, the eyes and ears of the southern army. They were not ready disposed to offer their normal services to General Lee.

Otherwise General Lee would have been given adequate Intel, letting him know that the Union was building up in a massive array around Gettysburg.

With this new Intel General Lee would have never continued the confrontation in the Gettysburg arena.

Survival of the fittest I guess. And in that cause it was a great loss to the
Army of Northern Virginia.

(Intel continues below)

By the same note, most likely General Armstrong Custer’s Last stand, the greatest defeat ever suffered by the U.S. Army would never have happened, if he could have known the strength and resolve that the Sioux Indians and other Tribes had prepared for his fateful meeting.

These and many more stories from the annuals of history could be told about other major catastrophes; that happened in wars, such as napoleon’s Defeat at Waterloo, or the victorious battle on the Sea’s of England against the Spanish Armada all because they could not foresee the course of events that eventually lead up to their defeat.

Throughout the history of the World, there have been many major events displayed, but none will compare with the last war, the battle against God.

It seems that so many are ready to give you there intelligence report based on erroneous data, or even worse they choose to go on there worldly mission without concern for the consequences of their eternal destiny.

This is not how a well trained soldier would behave, not one who counted the cost and victory was of upmost importance!

The military always demand good intelligence, backed up by top notch reconnaissance so that the troops don’t end up walking right smack dab into a large enemy regiment; being out numbered by a superior number and losing all the men in the outcome.

If by unfortunate circumstance there is a breakdown in communication of intelligence, the first thing that they check is aerial reconnaissance and why they did not pick up such large enemy movements.

If because of neglect of duty, or some incompetent handling of information, we got ambushed what a disgrace!

How stupid is that?

How does this compare to what our life mission is and where we are headed in our life journey. Do we gather the proper intelligence report before we set off on our path?

Well fortunately due to Grace, and the rich mercy that has been bestowed upon us by a Merciful God, we have been given a Heavenly reconnaissance report.

One in that God shows us who our adversary is, but also what our one true weapon is where we are victors, that by the Cross of Jesus we now have entrance into glory through receiving his Son as our Savior.

I for one will not let another dissuade me from real eternal truth by neglect; for the cost of failure is too high, and treason to all who fail to gain God’s Mercy.

His redemption through the blood of Jesus has given us the greatest prize in Life. All we need to is receive his Son Jesus Christ as our Savior.

God is Semper Fidelis, AMEN
